ADAP Advocacy Association Launches Mental Health Project

Understanding the Implications of Co-Occurring Diagnosis of a Mental Condition and HIV/AIDS

WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 26, 2019) - The ADAP Advocacy Association (aaa+®) today announced that it has launched a new project to improve access to care and treatment for people who are living with a mental health diagnosis, as well as living with HIV/AIDS. The project – "Understanding the Implications of Co-Occurring Diagnosis of a Mental Condition and HIV/AIDS" – aims to raise awareness and understanding of the issues faced by people living with mental health conditions and HIV/AIDS, who also access care and treatment (or whom would benefit from such care and treatment) under the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), as well as provide useful resources and tools to the communities that serve them.

ADAP Advocacy Association Endorses U=U

Undetectable=Untransmittable campaign improves medication adherence, reduces community viral load, and combats HIV-related stigma

WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 20, 2019) - The ADAP Advocacy Association (aaa+®) today announced that it has endorsed the Prevention Access Campaign’s (“PAC”) U=U campaign, which promotes the solid foundation of scientific evidence behind undetectable equals untransmittable. The campaign is based on science, and not stigma.

ADAP Advocacy Association Releases 2018 Annual Report

Highlighting Our Commitment to Transparency

WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 30, 2019) - The ADAP Advocacy Association (aaa+®) today released its 2018 Annual Report – which highlights the organization’s ongoing commitment to transparency with advocacy to promote and protect the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (“ADAP”). The report also includes important information about its Correctional Health Project designed to address the unique needs among formerly incarcerated populations living with HIV/AIDS.

ADAP Advocacy Association Releases Correctional Health Policy Paper

Policy Paper Promotes Access to Care Among Former Inmates Living with HIV/AIDS under the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP)

WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 4, 2019) - The ADAP Advocacy Association (aaa+®) today released a comprehensive policy paper as part of its ongoing project, “Improving Access to Care Among Formerly Incarcerated Populations with HIV/AIDS under the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP).” The correctional health project aims to raise awareness about issues confronting formerly incarcerated populations living with HIV/AIDS (and/or Hepatitis C) who also access care and treatment (or whom could benefit from such care and treatment) under the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (“ADAP”), as well as provide useful resources and tools to the communities serving them.

ADAP Advocacy Association Named Organizational Partner for SYNChronicity 2019

HealthHIV to Host "SYNChronicity 2019: The National Conference on HIV, HCV, STDs, & LGBT Health" on April 14-16, 2019

WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 13, 2019) - The ADAP Advocacy Association (aaa+®) today announced it would serve as an organizational partner for the SYNChronicity 2019: The National Conference on HIV, HCV, STDs, & LGBT Health, which is being hosted by HealthHIV, HealthHCV, and the National Coalition for LGBT Health. Slated for April 14th-16th, it will feature five plenary sessions, four topic areas (HIV, HCV, STI & LGBT), three Institutes, two breakfasts & lunches, and one amazing conference.

ADAP Advocacy Association Launches AIDS Drug Assistance Program Advisory Council

Consumer-led effort will promote greater input by ADAP clients

WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 7, 2019) - The ADAP Advocacy Association (aaa+®) today launched its AIDS Drug Assistance Program Advisory Council, which will solicit consumer input on improving access to timely, appropriate care and treatment for people living with HIV/AIDS under the AIDS Drug Assistance Programs (ADAP). In continuing the organization’s strong commitment to patient-centric advocacy, each will include ADAP clients to ensure "that the voice of persons living with HIV/AIDS shall always be at the table and the center of the discussion."

Retreats designed to assemble key stakeholder groups to discuss pertinent issues facing people living with HIV/AIDS

(January 23, 2019) - The ADAP Advocacy Association (aaa+®) today announced it would host its 2019 HIV/AIDS Fireside Chat Retreats, assembling key stakeholder groups to discuss pertinent issues facing people living with HIV/AIDS. In continuing the organization’s strong commitment to patient-centric advocacy, each will include local patient-advocates to ensure "that the voice of persons living with HIV/AIDS shall always be at the table and the center of the discussion."
